To achieve the most precise representation of digital 3D objects in space, several optical reference points in the form of QR codes have been used, the positioning of which must be precisely measured for the calibration process.
This procedure is time-consuming and error-prone.

Innovation / Solution

The invention relates to a modular reference scale in the form of three QR code-bearing puzzle pieces, which are supplemented with further puzzle pieces depending on the required dimensions. The puzzle pieces are modular panels that can be coupled together in space. By arranging the QR code puzzle pieces in a grid pattern, acoordinate reference system is defined in space (coordinate origin) - with the X and Y axes in the plane and a resulting Z axis.
